MITER Brands also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors and PGT Innovations, is one of the nation’s largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country. We are currently looking for a Receiving Supervisor for our Fife, WA manufacturing plant. In this role you will oversees the manufacturing plant’s Receiving Department and all the corresponding personnel. The Supervisor is responsible for managing the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of materials by ensuring all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately, safely, and on-time. While also partnering with various vendors and internal customers to ensure various business needs are satisfied to meet the needs of the customers.

Pay Grade: $73k - $91k, depending on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing receiving operations –
    • Oversee the material receiving activities to ensure materials received are what was ordered, correct quantities, undamaged, etc.
    • Responsible for the coordination and scheduling of pickups/deliveries of waste material for recycling
    • Create and execute department objectives; meet commitments and work within the guidelines of MITER Quality Pillars
    • Creates and executes Standard Work for personnel, performs audits of Standard Work and Work Instructions
  • Maintain records –
    • Review all paperwork in order to plan work activities, schedule appropriate personnel and balance loads
    • Manage expense accounts for department personnel
  • Coordination with other departments –
    • Support the order process by working extensively with inside sales representatives, warehouse, service, install, internal supply, and production personnel to ensure we experience no stock outs to manufacturing, service, install, or warehouse
    • Responsible for providing raw materials to production as needed to meet production schedules
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies –
    • Conduct cycle counting and variance analysis to maintain accurate inventory
  • Adherence to safety standards –
    • Adhere to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of job
    • Proper usage of personal protective equipment
    • Training, certification, and proper usage of material handling equipment
    • Reflect MITER business values and the MITER Quality Pillars in all business interactions
  • Supervise Receiving Department and all associated personnel

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma required; some college preferred
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required
  • APICS certification preferred
  • 2-4 years of progressive responsibility in a receiving, distribution, and/or warehouse environment
  • Ability to foster profitable partnerships with direct team and larger plant operations
  • Ability to coordinate and direct day to day operations prioritizing and multitasking
  • Proven computer skills using Microsoft Office applications required. Utilization of Microsoft Office data analysis tools, preferred
  • Previous inventory management and control experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Glass handling and/or glass knowledge a plus
  • Compute basic math problems to include fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to work in, develop, and promote a team environment
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work performed in a warehouse/manufacturing facility with temperatures subject to normal environmental conditions
  • Hearing protection, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, cut resistant arm guards, and steel-toed boots required; additional safety equipment provided based on specific job
  • Work surfaces are primarily concrete with anti-fatigue mats provided where feasible. Personnel will stand while performing their respective job functions, for up to 12 hours a day
