We’re looking for an elite, DoD Clearance-eligible, Cybersecurity professional to help build and maintain reliable safety-critical networks. We need a technology-focused team member who has experience with security management, Windows, Linux, network equipment, and VTCs. You’ll help manage sensitive and secure networks that enable SEI staff to solve difficult software problems that our government faces.
What you’ll do
- Help ensure that the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for the SEI’s classified systems.
- Serve as primary point of contact for periodic vulnerability scans (ACAS), endpoint security (HBSS), and system lifecycle.
- Coordinate efforts with the ISSM, the IA team, and other SEI staff on implementation of security policies and meeting accreditation requirements.
- Coordinate with users to ensure they are meeting initial and recurring training and justification requirements.
- Perform audits and log review functions using Splunk.
- Help harden Microsoft Windows 10/11 workstations, Windows Server 2016/2019 servers, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 systems, network components, and various services, according to DISA standards and best practices.
- Help perform administration duties for Microsoft Windows 10/11 workstations, Windows Server 2016/2019 servers, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, network components, and various services.
- Help troubleshooting and diagnosing system and network problems.
- Perform IT customer support (helpdesk) functions including troubleshooting, ticket resolution, and data transfers.
- Perform administrative support and user training on VTC systems.
Who you are
- Have a BS degree in a technical field and 8-10 years relevant experience. (MS preferred).
- Be extremely well organized and capable of working in a highly classified/complex computer environment.
- Have experience with vulnerability scans (ACAS/Nessus) and endpoint security (ESS/HBSS) in a DoD environment.
- Have experience with STIGs and SCAP in a DoD environment.
- Able to work well with others. Communicate closely with senior Security leadership.
- Have experience hardening systems and devices in a DoD environment.
- Have experience administering and patching systems and devices.
- Have experience reviewing audit logs and using an SIEM such as Splunk.
- Proficient in client configuration and user account administration.
- Experience with troubleshooting desktop operating systems and network connectivity issues, as well as application support.
- Possess a current IAT Level III certification in compliance with DoD 8570.1-M.
- Maintain continuous education requirements to maintain certification(s).
- Can pass a background check and obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense security clearance.
- Willing to travel (25%) outside your office location to other SEI offices, sponsor sites, conferences, and offsite meetings.
- Physical Requirement: Computer hardware installation and configuration required on a regular basis, sometimes involving transport of heavy objects (typically under 100 lbs.) short distances, use of hand tools, et cetera. Carrying of light objects (< 20 lbs.) for longer distances (intra-campus; 2-3 city blocks) may also be required.
