The Corporate Tax department is responsible for all corporate income and indirect (transactional) tax matters within DHL. Global responsibilities are addressed by International Taxes and Indirect Taxes, whereas regional responsibilities are organized by area, led by Regional Heads. DHL is offering one exceptional candidate the chance to join the Barueri, Tax Team as a Jr. Tax Analyst.  In this role, you will work with the Manager of Indirect Tax to manage state and municipal taxes and Performing closure, tax routines and daily activities, with minor complexity tasks under direct supervision.
 
Job Purpose:
This role is primarily responsible for all U.S. sales and use, gross receipts, and personal property tax compliance for all DHL business units and their respective legal entities.  This role also includes any business license compliance for applicable entity locations. The Sr. Tax Analyst will work closely with all appropriate stakeholders to carry out all tasks associated with operating/indirect taxes for the respective entities. The Sr. Tax Analyst will also support Sr. Tax Manager in review and management of administrative work.  The Senior Tax Analyst will support Sr. Tax Manager to support team goals and responsibilities and assist in their development. Typically, greater than 3 years of Tax Experience is required. 
 
Your Tasks:
  • Timely and accurate sales/use, personal property, and gross receipt tax compliance for all applicable legal entities and their respective locations throughout the U.S. 
  • Identify and utilize available exemptions to minimize tax liability. 
  • Recover tax overpayments through protests and refund claims. 
  • Apply for and maintain business licenses at the county/city level for all sites. 
  • Assist the audit manager with tax audits from date of notice through final determination. 
  • Where applicable, property tax, business license, and SUT accrual quarterly adjustments and preparing annual property tax and business license budget template for Finance/Accounting contacts. 
  • Document and continuously update department compliance policies and processes. 
  • Keep updated on tax legislation and opportunities pertaining to our various operations throughout North America. 
  • Assist business development by providing tax analysis for potential new locations.  
  • Research tax law and apply to transactions as well as communicate to the business units. 
  • Utilize Admin and Tax Manager to support team goals and responsibilities and assist in their development.
 
Your profile:
Required:
  • Experience in sales/use, ppt, gross receipts taxes
  • Tax research and planning
  • Communication Skills - Oral / Written 
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 3+ years tax experience 
  • Advanced English
Preferred:
  • Tax incentives/Credits/exemptions
  • CPA or other certification
  • MBA or Master's of Tax
