This position is located in the Bureau of the Fiscal Service. Payment Management, Kansas City Financial Center (KFC) or Philadelphia Financial Center (PFC), Payment and Mail Operations Branch (PMOB).    


 

As a Lead Peripheral Equipment Operator, you will:

-Communicate assignments, projects, and problems to be solved, milestones, deadlines, and timeframes for work completion.

-Guide the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques; advise on work methods, practices and procedures; and assist in identifying the parameters of a viable solution.

-Lead the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks to team members in accordance with established workflow and or skill level.

-Prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required by the supervisor.

-Identify supplies and materials required to create, print, inspect, insert, enclose, sort, stage, and mail payments.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-05, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: 

- Communicating assignments and guidance for work; AND

- Monitoring team member work in clerical or office work and performing the work as needed to ensure quality assurance requirements; AND

- Assisting with problem solving and issue resolution; AND

- Reviewing work for completeness and compliance with established guidelines; AND

- Utilizing computer software and systems for data entry and reports.

OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: 4 years of study above high school from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college or university;
OR You may qualify with a combination of specialized experience and related education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions

For the GS-05: You may be advanced to the GS-05 position if you have held a position no lower than GS-03 in the preceding year under your latest non-temporary competitive appointment OR have held a position at GS-05 or higher under a non-temporary appointment at any time in the past.
