This position provides human resource support duties to the State Correctional Institution (SCI) Houtzdale and the Quehanna Boot Camp. This position is physically located at SCI Houtzdale. As a Human Resource Assistant 1, you will facilitate compliance with a variety of human resource programs involving labor relations and provide clerical support to the Field Human Resource Office. You will review and maintain policies and procedures regarding the Employee Performance Reviews (EPRS), Position Descriptions (PDs), performance standards, Official Personnel Files (OPFs) and essential job functions. This position records monthly meeting minutes for labor management meetings and disciplinary conferences and serves as the liaison for worker's compensation and FMLA units. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: After successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, you may be eligible for telework up to 2 days per week, with 3 in-office days; based on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Houtzdale.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of clerical or other comparable experience which involved obtaining, providing, and evaluating information in accordance with established standards; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
