Who We Are
Our team, Strategic Product Planning (SPP), is part of Project & Product Strategy (PPSO), within Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT). We are responsible for delivering the North American Product Plans and initiating projects for Volvo & Mack Trucks North America. We accomplish this by performing product and industry research, working with customers to identify their pain points, and evaluating future technologies and regulations in the North American Medium and Heavy-Duty Truck Industry.
What you will be doing
As an Intern within Strategic Product Planning, you will have key responsibilities in supporting the Mack & VTNA Product Planning team in performing product and industry research, engaging with key stakeholders, and working cross-functionally with other teams in the global Volvo Group.
Responsibilities
- Support with medium and heavy-duty vehicle product research & industry trend analysis
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of market data
- Capture market information and trends related to Industry Verticals, Zero Emission Vehicles, and Vehicle Automation
- Investigate corollary industries for pain points and future customer value propositions
- Lead continuous improvement idea implementation for the Product Planning team
Who You Are
You are a Business, Engineering, or Product Management student that is prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering and product management. GTT values collaboration and life-long learning and our goal is to contribute to your development while providing you an opportunity to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry. You will report to the Director – Product Planning North America.
Required
- Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to start of the internship
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
- Applicants must have a continuous-improvement mindset
- Experience in Microsoft Power BI is a plus
- Interns may work up to 40 hours per week during their summer internship period
- Interns will be expected to spend their time working in the office (Greensboro, NC)

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00.The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
