As a Public Utility Auditor 1, you will learn to observe and make judgments while assisting experienced auditors in the performance of a variety of financial and operational audits of regulated utilities. You will assist in onsite audits of public utility companies and determine whether internal accounting practices and procedures follow generally accepted standards.  You will also assist in the preparation of complex analyses and prepare written reports, detailing conclusions and recommendations resulting from financial or operating reviews.
 Qualifications:
  • Must meet PA residency requirement – For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency
  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:  One year as a Public Utility Auditor Trainee; OR Graduation from college with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by a minimum of twenty-four credits in accounting, and one year of audit experience; OR Registration as a Certified Public Accountant; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 24 credits in accounting. One year of additional audit experience may be substituted for twelve of the twenty-four credits in accounting. A master degree in Business Administration, which includes twelve credits in accounting at the graduate and undergraduate level, may be substituted for the required twenty-four credits in accounting.
