Purpose and role of job:
Responsible for the management of assigned customer accounts including credit evaluations, financial reviews, collections and Market Development Funding (MDF) levels. Evaluate and maintain accrual accounts sufficient to adequately cover promotional and other expenses associated with customer accounts. Partner with Sales Ambassadors and cross-functional supply chain leaders to facilitate financial efficiencies in the order to cash process.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Cash application process – reconcile, record and post daily banking transactions related to Accounts Receivable customers.
- Primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders for all commercial finance aspects of assigned customer accounts.
- Collection of customers account balances via phone and email.
- Review, investigate and resolve customer’s deductions, discrepancies, and claims in assigned time frame by engaging with cross-functional supply chain and sales colleagues.
- Perform root cause analysis and interact with cross–functional colleagues to identify areas of improvement to limit reoccurrences of unauthorized claims due to internal deficiencies on assigned accounts.
- Issue credit and debit memos as required to clear approved customer claims or identify chargeback’s to customer accounts.
- Release orders that go on credit hold.
- Evaluate and maintain sufficient MDF and other customer accrual accounts for customer promotional and sales related expenses using Vistex.
- Prepare monthly reports to Sales team and Finance team as needed.
- Create and maintain Vistex agreements to ensure proper accruals for promo and rebated related customer programs.
- Perform maintenance on customer files within ERP system as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Education and experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess advanced analytical and critical thinking skills
- Able to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to recognize problematic processes and take a leadership role in the design and implementation of solutions
- Team player with ability to interact with all departments
