Purpose and role of job:

Responsible for supervising all production employees in an efficient manner to achieve the desired quality and quantity of work, interacting with Maintenance, Quality Control, housekeeping, and safety on the production floor.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

  • Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.
  • Supervises all hourly personnel and operation of the shift.
  • Reports any process and equipment problems to the Maintenance Group Lead or Manager.
  • Ensures that established rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
  • Verifies all production specifications and packaging requirements.
  • Distributes plant status reports to the proceeding Shift Supervisor and report any incidents to the Production Superintendent or Manager.
  • Oversees all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping to make sure these are following company guidelines.
  • Completes production orders and efficiency reports for machine lines.
  • Assists preventative maintenance programs on machine lines.
  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of college courses or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of all processes and equipment.
  • Standard knowledge of forklift operation.
  • Standard knowledge of instruments, control units, packaging machines, and scales.
  • Advanced ability to communicate orally and written.

Work Environment:

  • Fast paced.
  • Wet operation.
  • Variety of fragrance additives to wet wipes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Walk/stand 100% of time during 12 hour shift.
  • Manual lifting of boxes ranging from 10 – 30 lbs.
  • Manual lifting of pallets weighing approximately 45 lbs.
  • Manual push/pull of dumpsters with a 1000lb capacity.
  • Pushing of rolls with weight ranges from 50 – 100 lbs.
  • Emptying 33 gallon cans weighing 50 – 75 lbs. (2 person task)
  • Lifting and emptying 5 gallon buckets of liquid solution.
  • Daily sweeping and mopping of the floor.
