Probationary Police Officer – Lower Merion Township Police, Montgomery County, PA
The Lower Merion Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Probationary Police Officer. There is no application fee. The deadline for applications is Monday, May 5, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.

The written test will be conducted on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Harriton High School Cafeteria (600 N Ithan Ave., Rosemont, PA 19010). Start times will be determined based on the number of sessions needed to accommodate all applicants. Applicants will be notified via email of their start time after May 5th.
Physical agility testing will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025 and Sunday, June 1, 2025, if needed, at the Harriton High School Track (600 N Ithan Ave., Rosemont, PA 19010). Sign-up information will be provided based on the written examination results.
2025 Salary:
- $80,427 Hired without Act 120 Training (While attending police academy)
- $90,162 Hired with Act 120 Training (Upon successful police academy graduation)
- $128,112 Current 2025 salary for Senior Police Officer (5-year officer)
Vacation:
- 2 weeks after 1 year
- 3 weeks after 5 years
- 4 weeks after 11 years
- 5 weeks after 19 years

Civil Service Requirements:
- United States citizen
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the date of filing application
- Graduate of high school or a graduate equivalency diploma
- Must pass any and all written and/or oral examinations
- Must pass physical agility test
- Must pass physical and psychological examinations
- Must be of good moral character and pass extensive background investigation
- Must have a valid operator’s license; No in-state residency requirement
