This position is responsible for the direct management of the carpentry, labor and grounds maintenance trades across Hersheypark, Historic Hersheypark Arena, Hersheypark Stadium, and ZooAmerica. Additional responsibilities include development, evaluation, scheduling, and supervision of staff, communication of and enforcement of Company and maintenance policies and procedures, ensuring that safety and health policies are followed, and ensuring compliance with all applicable government regulations.

Manage the daily front-line repair and maintenance activities of the carpentry, labor, and grounds trades. *

Manage all aspects of the Unionized Maintenance employees in the carpenter, labor, and grounds trades; coach, mentor, and develop these direct reports; maintain front-line communication and labor relations. Establish required training and testing for tradespersons' entry and advancement. *

Manage the scheduling of personnel, prioritization of jobs, employee recognition, and other duties to develop employee communications and relations. *

Coordinate with other departments, including the use of outside contractors. Manage subcontractors and associated land maintenance budget as needed for areas of responsibility, e.g., landscaping/snow removal. *

Monitor daily ride and facility inspections, documentation, and spare part usage. *

Inspect rides, buildings, and equipment for planning and completion of preventative maintenance. *

Assist in the creation and management of preventative maintenance schedules and long-term projects; evaluation standing processes and procedures, and monitor inefficiencies. *

Assist in the creation of and monitor the carpentry and labor and grounds annual budgets, monitor expenses, maximize productivity, and approve purchase orders and invoices *

Stay current in relevant trade techniques and products to provide realistic cost estimates on proposed projects, and for ordering appropriate needed equipment, supplies, parts, and tools to complete projects. *

Oversee the management of work group tool inventory, supplies, and other equipment that the crews need to complete their work. *

Ensure consistency in enforcing Company and departmental policies and procedures. *

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and assist in the oversight of health and safety practices and procedures in areas of responsibility. Ensure all necessary training programs have been offered in accordance with government regulations and/or Company policy. *

Participate in the Maintenance Department Manager on Duty rotation.

Knowledgeable with trade equipment (manual transmission, tampers, chain saws, air compressors, jack hammers, snow blowers, chippers, leaf blowers, hand tools, power blower, mini tiller string trimmer, and mowing equipment).
