Description The CDC utilize Direct Hire Authority to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. The vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications.

This public notice will be used to fill the positions listed below at multiple grade levels and locations.
  • Mathematical Statistician (Data Scientist): Grades GS-7 through GS-15
  • Mathematical Statistician (Informatics): Grades GS-7 through GS-15
Basic Qualifications:
  • Degree: that included 24 semester hours of mathematics & statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics & 6 semester hours were in statistics OR
  • Combination of education & experience: at least 24 semester hours of mathematics & statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics & 6 hours in statistics plus appropriate experience or additional education
In addition to Basic Qualifications above, Minimum Qualifications must be met:
  • GS-7:
    • At least 1 year of graduate-level education OR
    • Superior Academic Achievement (See Education section) OR
    • 1 year of specialized experience (GS-5 equivalent) OR
    • A combination of education & experience
  • GS-9:
    • At least 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree OR
    • 1 year of specialized experience (GS-7 equivalent) OR
    • A combination of education & experience
  • GS-11:
    • At least 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
    • 1 year of specialized experience (GS-9 equivalent) OR
    • A combination of education & experience
  • GS-12 & above:
    • At least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level
Salary49,025.00 - 186,854.00 Annual
