Oversee enterprise security system; focusing on the proactive identification, prevention, and remediation of security threats across the organization's IT infrastructure. The Security Systems Analyst will play a crucial role in maintaining the security posture of the organization's systems and networks while ensuring smooth and reliable system operations. Support the organization in achieving IT goals by planning and executing projects.

This position reports to the Director of Information Technology.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Security Monitoring & Analysis:
    • Proactively monitor security systems (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) for suspicious activity, alerts, and security incidents.
    • Conduct threat hunting and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
    • Analyze security logs and events to detect and respond to security incidents.
    • Investigate security breaches and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • System Administration:
    • Manage and maintain server infrastructure (physical and virtual) including installation, configuration, and patching.
    • Administer and troubleshoot network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
    • Provide technical support for end-users on system-related issues.
    • Perform system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
    • Implement and maintain system security controls (e.g., access control, encryption, data loss prevention).
    • Evaluate, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications for IT server applications and projects to meet the business needs
  • Security Engineering & Implementation:
    • Assist in the design and implementation of security solutions (e.g., intrusion detection, data encryption, vulnerability management).
    • Participate in security projects and initiatives (e.g., security audits, compliance reviews).
    • Stay current on emerging security threats and best practices.
    • Develop and maintain security documentation (e.g., SOPs, incident response plans).

  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR).
    • Identify and assess security risks to the organization.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Vendor Management of critical IT vendors:
  • Vendor onboarding – Establish clear expectations and processes for new vendors, including onboarding documentation and training.
  • Performance Monitoring – Tracking vendor performance against key performance (KPIs) such as delivery time, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Relationship Management – Building and maintaining positive relationships with key vendor contacts to ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Compliance Management – Ensuring vendors adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Managed Services Liaison:
  • Manage security audits and vulnerability and threat assessments, and directing responses to network or system intrusions
  • Manage key infrastructure security design and settings.
  • Lead project teams as needed and provide technical guidance and leadership to staff
  • Participate in cross functional teams to develop and improve policies and procedures within the information technology organization
  • Manages Capital Expenditure Requests and purchases
  • Interfaces with managed services desktop support developing and maintain a standard client environment.
  • Tier 3 escalation support as required

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences, Technology, or relevant experience
  • 7 or more years experience required
  • Specific experience with Microsoft Operating Server Systems 2016 to latest OS available, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Specific experience with Microsoft Azure O365 in a hybrid environment.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

  • Position requires technical ability to recommend, install, upgrade, monitor, tune, and maintain LAN software applications.
  • Requires the ability to support file and application servers and knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, Windows protocols, SSL VPN, Microsoft Application Servers, switches, Barracuda, BitDefender, some IBM iSeries, DNS and DHCP management.
  • Position requires the ability to administer a Microsoft Azure O365 environment.
  • Position requires the ability to administer a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Project management and time management skills are a must.

Limited travel maybe required.
