The Human Resources team is searching for a HR Technology Architect or HR Technology Associate Architect, a professional role within the HR Technology function. The position is responsible for ongoing support and development of systems, processes, features, and functionality for all enterprise HR technologies.

You will contribute to the department by providing essential support for information systems that directly impact human resource functions and integrate with campus-wide systems. You will work closely with internal HR partners and campus partners to support Workday activity and other information systems within Carnegie Mellon University.
Core responsibilities will include:
- Designing solutions based on requirements gathered by HR Business Analysts or other colleagues within the HR Technology team to optimize the management of human resources at the university.
- Reviewing and recommending solution options to facilitate optimal system functionality. Offering feedback and suggestions to functional customers if requirements fail to align with best practices or standards.
- Documenting and implementing detailed solution designs, including technical configuration and reporting requirements, security configuration, and scheduling.
- Collaborating with functional resources, process owners, and HR Business analysts on test scenario design, unit testing, and system / end-to-end testing execution.
- Detailing and completing cut-over and migration of technical solutions from test environments to production environments.
- Monitoring features that are provided via regular HR application upgrades and facilitate the vetting, configuration, testing, and implementation of new releases.
- Collaborating with project teams and process owners to ensure delivery of optimal solutions within the specified timeframes.
- Adhering to documentation and control procedures for design, configuration, testing, and migration of technical solutions. Support university data access and privacy standards.

Candidates should have strong analyst skills and enjoy working in a highly collaborative team on a broad array of disciplines within the HR/Payroll domain. Candidates should also have broad experience in HCM applications and a real passion for delivering solutions in a unique, challenging environment.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s degree in same disciplines preferred.
Experience:
HR Technology Associate Architect:
- 1 to 3 years of experience utilizing and supporting Workday and/or similar enterprise-level HCM systems.
HR Technology Architect:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a systems analyst supporting and configuring Workday HCM and reporting tools is required.
A combination of education and relevant experience from which the candidate can demonstrate comparable knowledge may be considered.
