The Opportunity
As the Director of Automation and Facility Engineering, you will be responsible for our Engineering organization across QVC and HSN. This will include Systems/Automation Engineering, MHE Software Engineering, Fulfillment Center Design, Fulfillment Center Controls, and the Facilities Center of Excellence. You will also be the chair for developing, executing, and improving a strategic roadmap across QVC and HSN.
You will lead your team to design and implement technology/automation solutions that are safe and economical for material handling systems across the network. You will have in-depth expertise in the field of MHE automation and will be dedicated to optimizing productivity, efficiency and accuracy in material handling operations. You will manage a CAPEX budget across Operations and Fulfillment of $30M to $150M annually. You will work remotely, with occasional travel and report to the VP Operations Strategy & Technical Services.

Your Impact
- You will Communicate with stakeholders to understand needs, support development of technology/automation and software solutions, and manage projects for the Operations network.
- Manage the CAPEX budget and implementation of CAPEX investments across Operations. Align with other teams such as IT and Product Management teams
- Lead a team of automation, software and controls engineers, assign and prioritize work, provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and development for all members of the team.
- Partner with cross-functional leadership teams to scope, prioritize, and launch the new projects and ensure the appropriate resources are in place to support each new engagement.
- Work with equipment vendors, suppliers, and company partners to procure and integrate the necessary MHE equipment into the automation system
- Design Fulfillment Centers and corresponding Processing and Storage solutions that meet needs.
What You Bring
- Knowledge in current fulfillment MHE automation.
- 10+ years experience with ownership of P&L or customer-facing/revenue generating responsibilities.
- 5+ years experience implementing automation projects in a related field (distribution or ecommerce fulfillment).
- Experience in Supply Chain Management Systems (WMS and WCS), Technology Product Management, Project Management, Transportation, Inbound Operations, Outbound Operations, Capital Projects or P&L
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering), or related experience and technical disciplines is required.
