In this role, you will oversee a department within the Aggregate Testing Lab, guiding employees in carrying out technical tasks associated with laboratory testing of informational and investigative aggregate samples. Responsibilities encompass assigning and supervising aggregate testing, ensuring adherence to specified standards, determining the appropriate tests to be conducted, establishing test sequences, prioritizing and scheduling work, reviewing tests for accuracy, and analyzing results in case of deviations. Additionally, you will be responsible for training new staff members in the relevant methods and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • This position is eligible for alternate work schedule
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a Materials Manager 1; or
  • Seven years of progressively responsible and varied experience in the testing of materials used in highway, bridge, building, hydraulic, soils or similar testing programs; and graduation from high school. An Associate Degree or two years of college in an engineering or science technology program may be substituted for one year of the required experience; or
  • Three years of progressively responsible and varied experience in the testing of materials used in highway, bridge, building, hydraulic, soils or similar testing programs; and a Bachelor's Degree in a physical science or closely related field; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
