A Correctional Industries (CI) Manager 2 plans, organizes, and directs the overall operations of designated CI industries. The incumbent establishes priorities, goals, and objectives and communicates expectations to subordinate staff, as well as determines staffing needs and priorities based on established facility and departmental goals and objectives. In addition, the Correctional Industries Manager 2 maintains an annual budget as assigned by the fiscal department, as well as develops, revises, and implements functional work processes and procedures. You will have the opportunity to establish, schedule, and implement orientation and on-the-job training programs for staff and inmate workers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Travel is required
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of 67,433.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Correctional Industries Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing or a service oriented production operation, including three years of supervisory experience; or
  • A Master’s Degree with major course work in industrial engineering, business administration, public administration, vocational education, industrial education, or related area and two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or a service oriented production operation; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, including three years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or a service oriented production operation. Formal study at a college or university with major course work in industrial engineering, business administration, public administration, vocational education, industrial education, or related training may be substituted for non-supervisory experience on a year-for- year basis to a maximum of four years.

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
