What you will do

As the Sr. Product Manager - Vocational & Medium Duty, you are responsible for driving market share growth and increasing profitability for Mack Vocational & Medium Duty Products. You will identify current customer demands and competitive gaps. Your focus will be to anticipate future needs to inform the product development plan.

Location and Travel:
This role is located on-site in Greensboro, NC, and will require moderate travel.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Support the Field Sales and Marketing organization with product and applications expertise; attend customer meetings, as required.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations to ensure Vocational & Medium Duty products are easy to order.
  • Attend selected Trade Shows as either booth support staff or competitor/customer research.
  • Coordinate/lead marketing initiatives to sell value-added features/options; ensure execution and results by working alongside Brand & Marketing and Commercial Operations
  • Collaborate with Competence Development to develop content for and deliver Vocational & Medium Duty product training to the Mack Dealer Network.
  • Follow-up with Uptime and Quality organizations relative to quality issues with Vocational & Medium Duty products.
  • Represent the Voice of the Customer with market insights based on market research to establish clear feature positions for each model, including services and solutions.
  • Understand, anticipate, and map customer needs relative to the Vocational & Medium Duty segments.
  • Provide input to the Strategic Pricing team relative to new features, products, and overall price management.
  • Contribute to Product Roadmaps, ensuring a competitive and optimal offer for Vocational & Medium Duty products by streamlining our offer portfolio.

  • Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing or Business Administration or a combination of equivalent experience, education, and training.
  • MBA is a plus.

  • Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, original equipment, or transportation industries.
  • Prior experience with product management, product development, business development, and/or sales.
  • Familiarity with all of Marketing “4 Ps” (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) with prior direct experience in at least one of the four.
  • Experience setting priorities with cross-functional and complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all MS Office Suite products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
