As a Third Party Liability Program Investigator, you will review documents from attorneys and insurance companies, as well as research all possible sources for recovery of medical assistance funds. You will be responsible for notifying relevant parties of DHS interest, initiating request of medical claims for review, and following up to ensure payment of the department's claim. You will communicate legal authority to recover medical assistance funds. In this position, you will have an opportunity to utilize your excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing to outline the department's claims and defend the department's position based on federal and state laws and regulations. Due to the nature of this work, you must maintain a well-versed knowledge of laws and regulations in relation to medical assistance fund recovery.
