Work hours 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Monday - Friday; 1 hour lunch period

The Housing Choice Voucher Program provides safe and decent housing for low income families. This classification is technical work responsible for for the inspections of Section 8 rent assistance dwellings and/or public housing. The employee is responsible for compliance with procedures of the Housing Authority and Federal Regulations. Work involves a variety of functions such as scheduling and performing inspections and preparing reports. Work also involves consulting with landlords and/or tenants to effectively complete established requirements. Work is performed with considerable independence subject to review by an administrative superior though conferences and review of reports.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements -
One year of experience in the area of building structure or maintenance inspection;
one year of building or trades experience which included work in the area of cost estimation;
an equivalent combination of experience and training.
