Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
This team is considered the global process leader for high-speed progressive die stamping, injection molding of engineered plastic resins, and the assembly of terminals, housings, and connectors at various levels of automation for the Appliances Industry. This senior manager position will report directly to the ADM Global Director of Manufacturing Engineering and will manage engineers located in the US.
This role is Remote USA. Company will not provide any sponsorship or relocation assistance.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering teams as well as our Manufacturing Plants and strategic vendors
- Process Leadership and Expertise: SME in New Product Introductions and Process Capability. Ability to develop strategy and framework across multiple businesses.
- Operational Strategy & Organizational Development: Contribute to defining operational strategy & develop the organization in support of business strategy, managing complex organizations w/ multiple sub-functions.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead the successful transfer of new products from Engineering to Manufacturing Operations, ensuring seamless integration of processes & systems. Optimize Time to Market for successful new product launches meeting customer targeted timelines.
- LEANPD Driven New Product Development: Play a pivotal role in LEANPD driven new product development projects, ensuring strong impact and adherence to Lean principles throughout the process.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Development Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Interface Between Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering: Act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to optimize designs for manufacturability
- Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost, and cycle time, aligning with TEOA requirements and Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s).
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Maintain and adhere to all appropriate specifications,
regulatory agency requirements, ISO standards, and customer requirements, ensuring compliance across all manufacturing processes with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Resource Management: Manage resources effectively to meet production schedules and project deadlines, including personnel, equipment, and budget allocation
What your background should look like:
- Qualifications:
- Due to ITAR regulations, US citizenship or US lawful permanent residency (green card) is required to apply for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent. Advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working within Manufacturing Engineering and Process Development
- Advanced knowledge of core processes – assembly, molding, plating, stamping, machining
- Experience working in a low volume, high mix environment is preferred.
- Experience with products in military/aerospace is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a cross-functional team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization.
- GB or BB in Lean Design for Six Sigma preferred but not required.
- Capability to work in a fasted paced, dynamic global environment with multiple changing priorities.
- Proficient in MS Office Software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge in statistical software packages such as JMP and Minitab desirable but not required.
- Sound project management skills.
- Ability to travel globally 25%-50% of the time.

- COMPENSATION
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $157,700k - 236,500k annually (subject to change dependent on physical location)
- Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
