The Pennsylvania Department of Education is looking for an Education Administration Specialist to serve as a Board Administrator for the State Board of Private Licensed Schools. Our division works with postsecondary occupational training providers (trade schools) offering services to Pennsylvania residents. This position gives you the opportunity to ensure school compliance with the mandates of the Private Licensed Schools Act. As a Board Administrator, you will focus on providing advisory services, conducting compliance evaluations, and enforcing Public Licensed School mandates. You will be responsible for corresponding with a group of identified schools on behalf of the Board. Work includes reviewing, auditing, and evaluating information and documents submitted to the Board for consideration as well as communicating the requirements for compliance with the Private Licensed Schools Act back to the school. You will work independently to prioritize and manage incoming requests, applications, renewals, audits, and correspondence. This role gives you the opportunity to work closely with colleagues, the Administrative Assistance, Supervisor, and the Division Chief to ensure consistent communications are being sent out to the schools. Additional responsibilities include:
- Evaluating processes and procedures and providing recommendations for improvement
- Providing guidance to schools and the public on how to apply for authorization and program approval
- Conducting a general review of school financial operations
- Conducting training sessions for new school applicants and new school directors
- Assisting in the investigation and resolution of student complaints

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You must report to the Harrisburg office, or other site as designated by the Division Chief, at least one day per month. Additional days in-office may be necessary and will be directed by the Division Chief. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Education Administration Associate; or
- Four years of professional experience in education including at least two years in educational administration; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of at least one year of full-time professional experience educating students in adult occupational training programs; or at least one year of full-time professional experience working in postsecondary education administration.
