As an Accounting Specialist Senior within PNC's Finance organization, you can be based in Cleveland, OH or Pittsburgh, PA.

As an Accounting Specialist Senior within the Finance Team, you are part of a group that is responsible for the aggregation and analysis of the various components of PNC Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL or “reserves”). This group has significant interaction with the various risk, balance sheet analytics modeling and finance organizations and works directly with information about PNC’s various loan portfolios (i.e. Commercial, Consumer and Impaired loans). The reserves process is a dynamic process of which the results are highly visible and a significant component of the financial closing process.

Day to day responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Support the governance and reporting requirements of the quarterly committee meetings. This could include aspects such as committee package generation, minute writing, development and documentation of educational materials, development and implementation of new reporting, etc. This will also include support for other key presentational assignments.
• Assisting with periodic reviews and updates of related policies, charters and procedures.
• Management of documentation and procedures repository as well as Sharepoint site administration.
• Project management and analytical support for other initiatives as necessary.

Job Description

  • Provides accounting, reporting and analytical expertise in support of a business function or business unit.
  • Provides specialized accounting, financial reporting, accounting research and control oversight for the company.
  • Creates accounting memoranda and various specialized reports for internal and external use.
  • Completes month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management and tax, and subsidiary regulatory reporting, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.
  • Supports and assists accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
