As a Human Resource Specialist, you will serve as the employee development specialist and the lead for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion efforts and works across the agency to incorporate these issues into the structure, program, policy development, and decision making of the PGCB. This professional reports to the Director of Human Resources, but may receive direction and instruction from the Board, Executive Director and Administrative Director. You will work in close association with the Director of Diversity and the Human Resource Specialist assigned to placement on matters of recruitment and community outreach.
You will be responsible for developing, administering, directing, and providing training to all levels of board staff to promote skill and leadership knowledge including but not limited to communication skills, effective writing, conflict management, stress management, presentation skills, emotional intelligence and awareness, mentoring, supervisory skills and knowledges, leadership development, and employee performance management. You will also evaluate the effectiveness and impact of training courses, as well as research and apply training and learning trends, developments, and best practices.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years as a PGCB Human Resource Assistant; or
- Two years of experience in the performance of professional human resource duties and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience in employee development and promoting an inclusive workplace culture.
Legal Requirements:
- Employment is contingent upon the completion of a Personal History Questionnaire with a thorough background investigation, including drug screening and the subsequent review and approval by the Board.
