This role functions as a receptionist at the Park Office and, on occasion, at the Marina Office, where the primary responsibility is to assist visitors by providing essential park information, addressing inquiries, and offering directions. The position requires proficiency in the Pennsylvania Reservation and Revenue System, as well as the ability to manage both telephone and written communications from park visitors, ensuring that inquiries are directed to the appropriate personnel.

The job entails executing clerical tasks within a defined work environment, adhering to established methods and procedures. Responsibilities encompass a range of activities, including the use of park revenue and reservation software to facilitate point-of-sale transactions, such as issuing boat launching permits, managing boat mooring reservations, and processing walk-in cabin bookings, along with other related items. The role also involves collecting fees and ensuring accurate financial accountability at the end of each shift, in compliance with cash management policies. Additionally, the position requires the organization of documents and electronic files in accordance with established filing protocols.

The receptionist is also responsible for preparing various documents, including letters, reports, and forms, as well as creating electronic materials such as advertisements for interpretive programs and other reports for the park's Outdoor Program Services team. Furthermore, assistance is provided in logging information from the maintenance department regarding vehicle usage, maintenance, or repairs, along with support in maintaining the filing system.

Proficiency in operating various office equipment is essential, including personal computers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, laminating machines, two-way radios, printing calculators, and telephone systems. The role may also involve performing additional office-related duties and incidental custodial tasks as required and assigned.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal Full-time employment without benefits. The season runs from May to October.
  • Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Weekends, holidays and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
