THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2401000 and is part of the PA 193rd Special Operations Wing, National Guard.

As a Management Support Specialist, GS-0301-09, you will plan, organize, and oversee the full complement of activities within the Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS). Plan, organize and execute all Group information management and personnel activities. Manage training programs for administration and personnel in accordance with established command guidelines. Serve as the Group point of contact and liaison with the servicing Force Support Squadron on personnel and manpower actions. Prepare and deliver presentations such as briefings, training sessions, and consultations with serviced Commander(s), other staff agencies and functional areas to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters and convey information. Participate in special studies and projects relating to planning, coordinating, and analyzing the effectiveness/efficiency of the Group CSS in meeting Air Force Administration program goals. Develop CSS consolidated resource plan for staff support to include budget, equipment, computers, supplies and required services. Exercise limited supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 24 months experience, education or training in any position that required compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
