About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineers to join our dynamic Database Resiliency Engineering Team. Be at the forefront of database innovation, working on projects involving Core Modernization, Cloud migrations and setting up best practices for both SQL and NoSQL databases. We are looking at individuals who understand the internals of DB engine and storage engine think outside the box to resolve complex problems. In this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
- Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
- Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
- Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
- Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
- Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Mentor less experienced software engineers
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of database engineering experience in distributed database technologies.
- 5+ years expertise in database management (managing complex relational and NoSQL databases).
- 4+ years of cloud development experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in data modelling techniques for relational and non-relational databases
- Understanding internals of database architecture
- Excellent communication skills at every level of the organization
- Strong knowledge of all cloud concepts and production resilience concepts. Able to define architectures that demonstrate these concepts.
- Ability to lead and influence others and critique their work in a way that improves the overall team and the final product.
- Strong relationship skills that brings others in, educates stakeholders, and drives consensus.
- Very deep skills in at least two technical domains
- Experience in working with cloud databases like Amazon RDS, Aurora and migration of on Prem databases.
- Deep understanding of database security best practices , encryption techniques, RBAC access control, compliance like GDPR .
- Ability to troubleshoot analyze and database performance bottlenecks
- Deep working knowledge or Oracle , CockroachDB, PostgresSQL, MongoDB
