POSITION: Indirect Buyer II

PAY RATE: Salary

DEPARTMENT: Procurement

SHIFT: M-F -> Hybrid

Purpose and role of job:

Indirect Buyer II, under general supervision, performs moderately complex procurement duties with the purpose of obtaining supplies and services from a variety of suppliers. A participation role, contributing to meetings and projects.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational polices and procedures. Must abide by all safety requirements and attain safety goals.
  • Partner with reliable suppliers, solving questions, and confirming expected deliverables, while resolving any delivery, payment, price discrepancies and quality related concerns.
  • Verification and accuracy of requisitions being processed, per established polices, and assist with preparation of requisitions and E-req summaries as requested. Place purchase orders upon approvals.
  • Make substitutions as possible, while maintaining necessary quality, collaborating with requesters of any deviations to confirm acceptance.
  • Contribute to the creation of formal RFI, RFQ, for various parts and services, while doing some analytical work for comparison purposes.
  • Supports the implementation of value creation opportunities and strategic supplier initiatives.
  • Utilizes in place processes to contribute to an efficient Supply Chain, working with spare parts teams on reorder and inventory quantities, based on lead-times and criticality of part, for production.
  • Works diligently on spot buy savings opportunities and contributes to cross plant initiatives.
  • Lead projects (RFP) for designated plants as assigned.
  • Takes trends in the Market and supply chain disruptions into consideration during supplier selection. Contributes to Supplier Assessment and score-carding.
  • Travel to other FQ locations as required.

Education and experience requirements:

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain or related work experience.
  • Strong MS office Suite skills to include Excel, Word, Power Point, along with knowledge of SAP, Power BI and QlikView.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; having knowledge of MRO parts and services.
  • Must be an effective communicator, both written and orally
  • Has the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Can support on-site personnel in all aspects of the procurement function.
