The IT Application Analyst Associate acts as the primary system owner for one or more applications used in the Hershey application portfolio. This role provides end-user support to operational departments who utilize these systems as well as assistance to Technology Services team members for daily troubleshooting of these systems. This role will analyze, develop, and propose system, configuration, and process changes and improvements for operational departments to accomplish business objectives.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Act as system owner for one or more non-enterprise systems in the Hershey application portfolio. Serve as the system expert within Hershey and as the vendor liaison on their assigned applications.*
  • Work collaboratively within the application support team and other IT and business areas to schedule, delegate, and follow up on issues and tasks to achieve company objectives in a timely manner.*

  • Analyze, understand and review operational needs, processes and procedures, identify opportunities, and propose and initiate changes at an application or employee level for process improvement*

  • Review system functionality and identify security concerns and potential risks both technically and through standard operations.*

  • Work closely with the IT Project Managers and acts as the technical lead on IT projects. Foster and maintain strong working relationships with operational departments.*

  • Work closely with system vendors to troubleshoot issues, apply patches, perform upgrades, and handle other required system maintenance needs.*

  • Provide technical assistance as Tier 3 application support to Technology Services team members on troubleshooting of applications and security vulnerabilities.*

  • Provide end user support and training for operational departments who utilize the systems to assist with configuration changes, new or improved process implementation, or high level business challenges.*

  • Act as Project Manager on small technical projects such as application upgrades or implementation of new features of existing applications.*

  • Work closely with other Application team members to share knowledge about systems and issues and train others as backups on key system functionality.*

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • 18 years of age or older.

    • Associate’s degree - Information Technology

    • Must have a valid Driver's License.
    • Relevant work experience can be substituted for education - 2 years
    • Industry Experience - Hospitality/Tourism, Help Desk/Ticketing Systems

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to work independently provided direction.

    • Ability to build and maintain relationships and work well with others as part of a team.

    • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong ability to follow the support cycle through incident reporting, troubleshooting, resolution, documentation and follow up communication.

    • Willingness to pursue ongoing certifications, education, and travel to occasional conferences.

    • The position is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

    • Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday. Must be able to work a flexible schedule with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operating needs and system maintenance schedules.

    • Required to be available after hours for supporting urgent business application needs and assisting the Desktop/Client Support team as needed.

    • Required to be available on call for emergencies regarding their assigned applications.

    • Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, must be able to work a flexible schedule with occasional evenings, weekends and holidays based on operating needs and system maintenance schedules. This is an onsite position based in Hershey, PA.
