The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office offers exciting employment opportunities for those seeking a career in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff. All applicants must go through a rigorous process to become a sworn law enforcement officer. This includes attending the 19-week training academy in State College, PA (unless already certified Act 2 or Act 120). All applicants for the position of deputy sheriff will be assigned to the Court Division of the Sheriff’s Office upon completion of their basic training. After completion of a deputy’s probationary period, the Sheriff’s Office offers opportunities for re-assignment to the Civil or Criminal Divisions based upon availability, experience, and job performance. Opportunities also exist for non-sworn clerical positions. Those job postings can be found at the link below as well.
