The Opportunity

The Broadcast Graphics Specialist will work with multiple business groups ensuring product data displayed during live and off-line productions is consistent and accurate.

Who We Are
This team will utilize data source research tools and procedural knowledge base when reviewing planned product presentations to make entries into data sources, identify potential issues, and escalate discrepancies following through to resolution. Another main component of this role is to design and program for display graphic elements supporting live and off-line productions, utilizing live graphic as well as pre/post production software design tools, adhering to brand and design direction, and providing technical and operation support for developed applications and workflows.

Your Impact

• Reviews all scheduled products utilizing corporate provided data sources and applications, as well as Broadcast Engineering provided applications and data sources, ensuring accuracy of all television displayed graphics

• Validates data surrounding product description, pricing, promotions, retail value descriptions, retail values, and retail value comparisons

• Makes adjustments and/or entries to data elements where possible, escalating discrepancies through appropriate business groups where those groups are responsible for making the adjustments and/or entries, following through to resolution

• Reviews content, formatting for television display, adjusting where necessary for consistency in layout, kerning, and leading

• Utilizes request fulfillment system to manage, prioritize, and document fulfillment of requests for graphic elements supporting live, off-line, and post production presentations

• Actively participates with multiple business groups in developing best approach to achieve presentation goals with regards to graphic element requests while adhering to brand and design direction

• Fulfills requests for graphic elements utilizing live graphic as well as pre/post production software design tools

• Programs developed graphic elements for display utilizing live graphics and Broadcast Engineering developed applications

• Creates workflow, process, and procedural documentation for training and reference purposes

• Actively participates in troubleshooting data, application, and execution issues documenting root cause, and following through to resolution

What You Bring

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

• Graphic design and animation as relates to television production, including awareness of broadcast standards as well as focus on layout and legibility

• Live graphics design of template based compositions to achieve presentation goals

• Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of software design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud suite of applications

• Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of live graphics software design and development tools such as VizRT, Ross XPression, or Chyron Lyric

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities

• Strong troubleshooting skills

Minimum Education:

Completion of trade or technical program in television production, graphic design, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Education:

Undergraduate degree in television production or graphic design

Minimum Experience:

2+ years of experience as graphics assistant or production artist

Preferred Experience:

2+ years of experience television graphics production
