Description You will serve as a LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T) Department, Philadelphia Site, Engineering and Product Support Directorate (N2), NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (WSS)..In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical guidance to program members on reusable containers, and Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHS&T)-related systems and equipment; 2) Applying a broad technical knowledge to the resolution of unprecedented problems having a direct impact on extensive and important packaging, engineering programs; 3) Measuring the ill effects of shock and vibration, corrosion and other deteriorative forces in the military supply and operation environment; 4) Managing resources received from acquisition programs, and developing, executing and adjusting budgets both within the team and at outsourced activities; 5) Ensuring team members acquire and maintain the requisite technical and teambuilding skill levels by providing on-the-job training in accordance with established procedures and practices, identifying training requirements and scheduling/encouraging participation in training events.
