Purpose and role of job:
Responsible for supporting the delivery of the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost. Drive improved profitability via cost reduction objectives.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Responsible for establishing accurate cost standards for our products.
- Evaluate work order accounting issues and assist in resolving material receiving and usage errors.
- Evaluate and correct other Cost Accounting issues that arise to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Works in parallel with Planning to ensure accurate Bills of Materials and Routings
- Participate and provide oversight for month-end close activities.
- Prepare reporting on material usage variances & work with Operations to improve.
- Provides analysis for forward-looking financial and business-related projects often working closely with Operations.
- Prepares budgets/forecasts and analysis of trends in manufacturing and other related areas.
- Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in planning and forecasting.
- Effectively communicate to leadership inventory revaluation and purchase price variance impacts.
- Provide financial and internal control support to a wide range of individuals and departments throughout the organization.
- Assists with monthly close, providing commentary on variances & other financial activity.
- Responsible for overseeing the weekly dashboard reporting process.
- Prepares reports and analysis as requested by Finance Management.
- Complete additional duties and assignments as delegated by finance management.
Qualifications/ education and experience requirements:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- MBA, CPA, and/or CMA preferred, but not required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in Cost Accounting.
Skill requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in ERP systems such as SAP
- Knowledge of US GAAP basic principles and elements of internal controls
- Understanding of manufacturing accounting environment
- Proficient in the manufacturing process.
- Experience working independently and leading complex projects.
- Experience working with leadership across a variety of functions
