Sweeper Lead

Hersheypark amusement park spans 121-acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park.

The Sweeper Lead is responsible for providing our guests with exceptional customer service while ensuring that our venues are clean and presentable for our guests and employees.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Pick up trash throughout Hersheypark, Hersheypark Stadium, and parking lots by using a broom and dustpan or picker.*

• Maintain the cleanliness of condiment stations and wipe down countertops

• Maintain walkways and midways to ensure that areas are free of debris and trash.

• Clean up during and after events throughout the Entertainment Complex*

• Greet guests throughout Hersheypark*

• Train new employees on all aspects of the Sweeper role*

• Assist in providing direction and break schedules to other team members in your assigned area.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be 15 years of age or older

• Minimum of 6 months of experience as part of the Park Services Department

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be friendly, upbeat, work well with other employees, and be able to interact with our guests

• Must be able to work in large crowds

• Must be capable of working in a team setting and independently

• Knowledgeable of all Sweeper areas of operations

• Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information

• Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

Job Demands:

• Must be able to work flexible hours including days, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with Child Labor Laws

• Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather. Work is almost exclusively outdoors.

• Must be comfortable with exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential exposure to bodily fluids and other spills

• Must be capable of carrying a pan and broom

• Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, reach above shoulder level, and the ability to push, pull, and lift up to forty-five (35) pounds without assistance
