These positions are located in the Department of the Chief of Program Operations (CPO), Office of Regional Operations (ORO). Duty location to be determined at the time of selection in one of the below listed offices.

  • Supports AmeriCorps VISTA recruitment and placement by reviewing and approving candidate applications, service opportunity listings, and VISTA assignment descriptions
  • Processes administrative actions for AmeriCorps members during the lifecycle of their service
  • Participates in grant review and award processing for various competitive and non-competitive processes
  • Support regional coordination, recruitment, and outreach activities
  • Creates reports for data related to regional needs
  • Reviews data within the various agency systems and supports analysis of data as needed
  • Contributes to the development, support, and implementation of special projects and special initiatives
  • Provides programmatic and administrative support as needed to assist the region in achieving its goals
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the low/mid range of the NY-01 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-5 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes:
  • Updating and maintaining data system(s);
  • Collecting and analyzing data, issuing reports;
  • Leading or Supporting grant funded programs or projects
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software; and
  • Providing administrative technical assistance or guidance to customers.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
