Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital.  We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses

The CRE Securitization and Capital Markets (“CSCM”) group within Wells Fargo Securities, LLC (“WFS”), which is aligned to the Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking (“WFCIB”) division, and also within the Commercial Real Estate (“CRE”) group of Wells Fargo Bank N.A. is the product group responsible for the structuring and securitization of the bank’s and third party clients’ commercial real estate loans. The group services a wide range of clients including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, opportunity funds and commercial real estate finance companies.

The Role:
The senior banker will be expected to take the lead in managing the securitization, structuring and execution of CMBS fixed and floating rate transactions including single borrower, agency multifamily and CRE CLO transactions.  The candidate will be a lead on deal teams and be intricately involved in all facets of the securitization process, creating pitch books, models, due diligence reports, credit memos and negotiating legal documentation as well as assisting in the sale/distribution of CMBS and CRE CLO bonds.  The position will be actively involved in all aspects of the deal execution.

Day-to-day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Display in depth knowledge of CMBS and CRE CLO transactions and experience to securitization clients
  • Coordinate with loan sellers, counsel, accountants, rating agencies, servicers, trustee and investors.
  • Build and maintain new and existing client relationships with Wells Fargo, as well as execute CRE Securitization & Capital Markets business plan
  • Assist in expansion of third party agented CMBS business with an emphasis on complex client solutions.
  • Interact daily with market participants and disseminate relevant information to sales, investors, issuer clients, other investment banks, etc.
  • Help clients achieve goals by creatively analyzing collateral and structural features for proposed CMBS and CRE CLO transactions.
  • Thoroughly understand the syndication/marketing process and secondary market trends that may affect deal execution.
  • Actively collaborate to successfully achieve team goals and do what is right for the customer.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in capital markets, industry experience within the specific sector of the position, or a combination of both


Desired Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills


Other Desired Qualifications
  • 7+ year professional experience with a focus in finance, real estate or capital markets
  • SIE, S79 & S63 viewed as a plus
  • Knowledge/experience in any of the following viewed as a plus: CMBS and/or ABS securitization, CRE CLO banking, commercial real estate underwriting, CMBS rating agency criteria, or CMBS accounting due diligence
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, demanding, fast-paced, highly focused, and collaborative work environment
  • Strong ability to interact with senior executives and clients
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in commercial real estate
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of information systems and programming
  • Dedication to building a career in the financial services industry
     


Job Expectations
  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours


Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

NY-New York: Min: $122,500 Mid: $175,000 Max: $227,500
