Through its Maryland offices, Wells Fargo Bank is the premier provider of Corporate Trust Services to the Mortgage-Asset Securities Market. We are currently seeking a highly-motivated, dynamic individual to fill a Tax Accountant 3 position with the following qualities: problem solving and analytical skills, planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, customer service skills, ability to comprehend legal documents, communication skills and adaptability. This position is ideally suited to an analytically trained individual with interest in a position utilizing their tax knowledge, accounting and finance skills. This position will be primarily responsible for but not limited to: preparing ,analyzing and reviewing quarterly and annual comprehensive tax basis financial statements for tax entities issuing Pass-Through Securities. Tax entities include REMICs, Partnerships, Disregarded Entities, Grantor Trusts and WHFIT’s (Widely Held Fixed Investment Trusts). The individual will also be responsible for training new team members, reviewing system generated checks for reasonableness, communicating tax structure modeling requirements, resolving issues, researching IRS Code and Regulations, performing all duties within published SOPs and providing exceptional customer service to investors and all internal & external customers. Your primary internal customer’s include Analytics, Business Development, Bond Administration and other Tax department team members.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
- 3+ years of tax and accounting experience
- Ability to read and interpret legal documents
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

- Ability to handle and accomplish multiple tasks effectively
- Strong Microsoft skills (Excel, Access)
