About the Position:
This position will be filled on a Temporary basis not to exceed one (1) year, may be extended to a maximum of five (5) years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
Shift Work: Required to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an Eelctronics Mechanic without more than normal supervision. to include Independently test, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul of complex electronic equipment and systems; Analyze, isolate, modify and maintain a variety of complex units and components; AND Install a variety of major components and related devices of complex electronics equipment. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Frequently lifts and handles equipment up to about 40 pounds. Work is performed sitting at bench or standing at test sites and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping.
Normally works inside well lighted, heated, and ventilated shop. Works at on-site locations as required on TDY assignments. Work outside is usually performed in good weather conditions but may be required to work in adverse conditions on priority items. Exposed to possibility of serious burns caused by electrical shock, RF energy and hot components, and to microwave radiation. Subject to cuts, bruises, and scrapes from handling tools and equipment.
