Schedule/Other Information
•Work Hours – 0730 - 1600, Monday - Friday.
•37.5 hour work week 
•This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55 The Facility Chaplaincy Program Director is responsible for the administration of religious activities and supervision of the Chaplaincy Department. Responsibilities to include all Religious Service Contract paperwork working through Central Office and the Business office, supervises and reviews the work of subordinate Department of Corrections Chaplains,Contract Chaplains, Chaplaincy Interns, Religious Volunteers and Inmate Worker, schedules work hours of subordinate Chaplains and Contract Chaplains; prepares performance evaluation reports; approves or disapproves requests for leave; interprets Department and Institutional policies and procedures for subordinate staff; assigns work in accordance with overall objectives of the Chaplaincy Program.

This position also schedules Chaplain visits to the Housing Units, RHU and the Infirmary, Plans, coordinates and oversees the conduct of regular and special formal religious services for inmates, evaluates the use of Chaplains and other service providers and deploys or re-deploys staff to meet changes within the inmate population, interviews and recommends candidates for employment in the Chaplaincy Department as Chaplains, Contract Chaplains, Volunteers and other staff.One year of pastoral experience in an institutional setting; OR one year of formal chaplaincy training, e.g., clinical pastoral education or by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains; AND a Master's Degree in Divinity, Theology or Pastoral Counseling.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Official ordination and sanction by a faith group to practice as a Priest, Minister, Rabbi or religious leader.
