Description **This vacancy announcement is for a competitive temporary detail opportunity which will not exceed 120 days. This detail can be terminated at any time.

The position is in Fiscal Service within the VA Medical Center, Coatesville acting as the facility voucher auditor/accounting technician/employee transportation assistant performing work associated with preparing travel orders, authorizations, expense vouchers and coordinating the travel management program.
  • Processes documents such as tort claims, beneficiary travel, bene-transit payments to employees and vendors;
  • Reviews documents to ensure their accuracy;
  • Validates travel documentation/authorizations;
  • Prepares travel authorizations;
  • Establishes employee files in a financial management system;
  • Ensures obligated and paid documents are accepted;
  • Ensures rejected documents are properly and timely corrected;
  • Analyzes travel itineraries/tickets;
  • Prepares audits and process travel vouchers;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal Service that has given me the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes examining invoices, vouchers, claims and other requests of payment for accuracy of documentation; processing and assembling vouchers and supporting documentation; assisting with submission of various reports for vouchers, payments etc.; reviewing/examining and correcting documents to ensure replenishments and deposits; processing claims, and travel payments; and performing a variety of travel assistance duties such as making travel arrangements and preparing all paperwork. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

There is no education substitution at the GS-6 grade level.
