Performs team-based care of the sick and injured and provides basic life support care to those requesting EMS response.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*1. Responsible for the care of the sick and injured in response to calls for service.
*2. Responsible for coordination with local Fire/Rescue personnel in conducting joint Fire and EMS operations.
*3. Responsible for the care and maintenance of medical equipment and vehicles, and report of repair needs to the appropriate individuals.
*4. Responsible for the accurate documentation of patient information and treatment.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
A. Knowledge of emergency medical treatment procedures, equipment, PADOH rules and regulations, industry standards and trends.
B. Ability to function with or without supervision as part of an EMS team(s) during incidents or special events.
C. Ability to remain focused during times of extreme stress
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
2. Valid Class 1 PA Driver’s License
3. Current and valid driver’s license for at least the last 3 years
4. Current PA EMT certification
5. Computer literacy
6. Initial nationally recognized trauma certification (i.e., ITLS, PHTLS)
7. CPR, EVOC
8. Clear criminal record
