Work Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; Monday - Friday; 30 minute lunch
This position is responsible for performing a variety of complex environmental engineering assignments that include reviewing complex Public Water System (PWS) permit applications to ensure compliance with Chapter 109 of the PA Safe Drinking Water Act; processing PWS operation permits and permit transfers for public water supply cases; reviewing water allocation permit applications; conducting PWS permit pre-application conferences with water suppliers; provide consultation to engineers and applicants; participate in PennVest Planning Consultations; provide engineering consultation and regulatory guidance; provide information to the public as well as public officials regarding Department programs etc.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years as an Environmental Engineering Specialist;
three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or in any engineering field that includes or is supplemented by 9 credits in environmental engineering;
four years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists;
three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. Graduate study in environmental engineering or in a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
