Description This opportunity is for a Therapist to provide counseling services to individuals of all ages and establish a written goal-specific treatment plan with the individual.  Serve as a resource providing mental health consultation to colleagues, community individuals, or agencies on cases to assist in providing the highest quality of services.

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; Monday through Friday; 30 minute lunch period
  • Hours must be adjusted as needed based upon consumer requests for evening appointments
  • On occasion, staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands or in the event of an emergency
  • This position provides backup coverage at the Bedford Long Term Structured Residence (LTSR).  When providing backup at the LTSR, may include evening hours or weekend hours.
This is a professional therapist position in the Bedford County Clinical Services Unit (CSU) and could provide backup in the Long Term Structured Residence (LTSR).  CSU duties include:  Provide individual therapy and counseling to people of all ages utilizing diversified professional techniques. Provide group, marital, family, and play therapy according to training.  Responsible for establishing a written goal-specific treatment plan with the consumer.  Provide professional mental health consultation to other program areas and community individuals or agencies on assigned cases.  Documents services provided with written reports and up-to-date clinical notes in the EMR.  Independently administer and interpret various psychological tests.  Assist the casemanagers in assuring the highest quality of services to all consumers.  Assist the staff in arranging voluntary hospitalizations, when necessary, for assigned cases to aid in making as smooth a transition as possible from community to inpatient.  Meet productivity standards as set for the program.  Participate in weekly clinical staffings.  Participate in staff development and in-service trainings.  Perform other related duties as required.  LTSR backup duties include:  develop, coordinate, and oversee therapeutic activities including group counseling, recreational therapeutic activities, and community integration activities.  Supervise and facilitate therapeutic groups.  Provide clinical input to the mental health caseworkers, interns, and other MHP Therapist for developing treatment plans with goals and objectives, documentation, diagnoses, and other therapeutic issues.  Provide Clinical direction to the LTSR nursing staff and Therapeutic Activities Aides (TAA).  Ensure that required documentation and paperwork are completed timely and according to policy/procedures. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications:
  • PA residency currently waived for this title
  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Psychological Services Associate 1 or one year of professional experience in psychological services work; and a master's degree in psychology or a closely related field.
